Bicycle Rush Hour in Utrecht

02 Jun

Found this video on another blog.  It’s 8 minutes (compressed down into 2) of bicycle rush hour in Utrecht, Netherlands.

What I immediately noticed was how quiet it was.  Sure, you can hear the buses and the trains, but other than that, it’s just the occasional sound of a bicycle bell.

I always wondered how the Dutch handled bad weather, like rain or snow.  Turns out they just throw on a jacket or “rain suit”, and hop on their bikes anyway.  Awesome.  72 days and counting!

you could hear a pin drop on dutch streets, esp at night when the cars are less out and about. true.
